Topics covered
The semester will concentrate on operator theory, harmonic analysis, complex variables and probability, with a special focus on noncommutative functions theory, which was motivated by previous works in multivariate operator theory and operator algebras.
The semester will run during four months, from September to December, 2016.
Several gatherings will take place, as listed below.
Each mini-course is made of 4-5 one-hour lectures on the same topic by the same specialist. The dates of the mini-courses may have to be changed to accomodate our visitors’ availability.
All of the proposed research topics are encompassed by the GdR AFHP (Groupement de Recherche “Analyse Fonctionnelle et Harmonique et Probabilités”).
A central event of the Semester will be the 2016 edition of the “Journées” (annual meeting) of the GdR AFHP (AFHP research group), which are scheduled to take place from October 10 to 12, followed by two intensive courses from October 12 to 14.
- Geometric measure theory: analysis and non-smooth objects, 12–16 September 2016
- Complex analysis and noncommutative functions, 3–7 October 2016
- Annual meeting of the AFHP research group: GdR conference (10–12 October 2016), mini-courses by John E. McCarthy and Alexei Poltoratski (12–14 October 2016)
- Analysis on p-adic fields, p-adic Fuglede problem, 2–4 November 2016
- Operators on spaces of holomorphic functions, 16–19 November 2016
